Absolutely! When I was first elected in 1993, Elected Members had a voice. Now we have been sidelined and viewed as a pesky distraction. Developers and the mighty dollar now rulesWhat role should Councils play in protecting local heritage places from demolition or inappropriate development?
It is imperative that Councils have veto rights to protect our heritage. How would you seek to improve protections for heritage places in your area?

There is a significant impact. Where 1 house is demolished and three or more go up> more cars parked on the street, more driveways and less street trees. No there is not. I have seen a dramatic decline in trees across the area. I have however seen data that would suggest heat sinks are emerging in MarionHow would you like to see significant and regulated trees in your area protected from removal?
A tree asset register with associated tree value recorded for both tree on private property and those on private land. What involvement should Councils have in decisions about protecting or removing significant and regulated trees?
Council arborists should be engaged to advise about the protection of said trees. Homes /structures should not be built directly under these treesWhat actions would you advocate to slow or mitigate the impacts of climate change in your local government area?
Electric vehicle uptake. Why do we have NO electric vehicles in the council fleet? Participate in carbon sequestration projects > Field River and Glenthorne National Park. To declare a climate change emergency in Marion, like many other councils haveWhat issues are there with traffic and parking in your area?
A lot, because of urban infill and overdevelopmentHow could transport options be improved in your area?
Bicycle commuter routes Improved public transportWhat would your top three priorities be for improving planning policy and outcomes in your local government area?
Ditch the Development Code, start again
Put a monetary value on all trees
