Lack of funding from State Government Grants programs no longer available for local branches of the National Trust, other community organisations and Council Educating the community regarding the importance of conserving our heritage
What policies and programs will you advocate to protect and conserve heritage in your local area?

Do you support local Councils retaining development approval powers for projects over $3m in value?
Yes I do - local Councils have an in-depth knowledge of their council area. The Clare and Gilbert Valleys is a unique area and has an outstanding reputation as a place of spectacular beauty and it will require careful management to ensure there is a balance between planning, development and retaining the Clare and Gilbert Valleys unique characteristics.
Do you have any other thoughts about the protection of heritage in your Council area?
I know that I have mentioned lack of funding a few times - but the continual cost shifting from both Federal and State Governments to Council has impacted on the Council's budget. Community organisations and Council need to get together to lobby for government support to ensure that the heritage assets in our Council area can be protected.
