The right people with committed interest in protection of heritage places should be elected to office.
We rarely see new places added to local heritage listings. Why do you think this is?
Lack of adequate information results in new places not added to local heritage listings. Clearly there is a need.
How has the Planning and Design Code impacted on the heritage, amenity, and environment of your area? What changes would you seek to the Code?
Does help in awareness on the heritage and environment in the city of Prospect. Probably more publicity and giving local councils more power to make appropriate changes.
What are the impacts of infill development in your area? What changes would you seek in the rules around infill development?
Minimal impact so far. More power should be given to local councils.
Construction of new housing typically uses 30% labour and 70% materials. Renovation of existing housing stock typically uses 70% labour and 30% materials. What policy changes would you like to see made to encourage people to renovate, rather than demolish and build anew?
More awareness to encourage the benefits of renovation rather than demolition. Some financial incentives to be considered.
How should the community be informed and involved in decisions about new developments?
The community should actively promote renovation rather than new developments.
Do you think there is adequate tree canopy across your local government area?
Definitely no.
How would you like to see significant and regulated trees in your area protected from removal?
Better legislation to protect the removal of trees.

More power to be delegated to local councils to protect and prevent removal of trees.

Penalties and fines should be increased and more education on climate change awareness.

Measures should be carried out to discourage use of cars and parking .
